There are 4 different basic categories of pitching machines. They are two wheel pitching machines, one wheel pitching machines, air powered pitching machines, and mechanical arm pitching machines.
The two wheel pitching machines is more expensive than the single wheel machine but can usually throw a much wider range of pitches such as- curves., sliders , split-finger fast balls as well as just regular fast balls. This type of pitching machine can throw regular baseballs or dimple balls up to speeds of 104 mph. 2 wheel machines are used by high schools, colleges, major and minor league teams and elite individual baseball / softball players. We provide many options including ATEC, BATA and JUGS baseball and softball pitching machines in our catalog.
One wheel pitching machines are usually less expensive and normally will only throw just fast balls. But there are a few one wheel pitching machines that will throw breaking type pitches. One wheel pitching machines can throw baseball or dimple balls up to about 50-70 mph. This type of pitching machine can also be used for defensive type drills such as grounders and fly balls. One wheel pitching machines are most often used by coach pitch leagues, youth leagues and competitive individual players. We offer a variety of ATEC, BATA, and JUGS baseball and softball pitching machines in our catalog.
Pitching machines that use air pressure to propel the ball out of the machine are designed to mainly throw straight fast balls. One of the big advantages of these pitching machines is that it is very portable. They are light weight and usually can be setup in just a few minutes. Also they may have their own internal battery system so no electrical outlet is necessary. This type of pitching machines can usually throw any type of appropriate size ball. These pitching machines are great for use in the back yard or at the practice field for young individuals or teams and also be used for coach pitch leagues. You will find our selection of Zooka baseball pitching machines in our online catalog.
Mechanical arm pitching machines use a rotating mechanical arm that gives a realistic wind up and release of the ball. This helps to promote proper timing so you will know when to start your swing when to shift your weight. Real baseball / softballs and dimple baseballs/softballs can be used in this machine with a top speed of about 70-80 mph. These pitching machines are generally used in commercial and professional batting cages. Feel free to browse our online catalog for Master Pitching Machine baseball and softball pitching machines.
